WA: Students asked to plan 'terror attack'

assignmentPERTH - Students at a West Australian high school have been asked to plan a terrorist attack that would kill as many innocent people as possible as part of an assignment.

The society and environment teacher at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School asked Year 10 students to pretend they were a terrorist planning a chemical or biological attack on "an unsuspecting Australian community", The West Australian newspaper has reported.

NSW: Autism film to raise schools awareness

kenSYDNEY - An autism awareness group founded by parents will receive $300,000 from the NSW government to make a film to educate schoolchildren about the disorder.

The grant is part of a $1 million package to boost services in the state for children with a disability or developmental disorders and their families and carers.

Six desktop computers valued at more than $7000 were stolen overnight from Marysville Primary School, which was rebuilt and opened earlier this year after it was destroyed by the February 2009 fires.

Natalie Dove was on yard duty at Marymount Catholic College on September 16, 2008, when she was held at knifepoint while trying to defuse a confrontation between students and a gang of trespassing youths.
